About the treatment
Injection lipolysis is a minimally invasive treatment designed to reduce localised fat deposits that are hard to remove through diet and exercise. It is particularly effective in the under-chin area, where it helps reduce fatty tissue and better define the contour of the face and jaw. Besides the under-chin area, the treatment is also applied successfully to smaller localised fat deposits on the body, such as the abdomen, flanks, inner knees, upper arms and other areas. The product is applied directly into the fatty tissue, where it encourages the breakdown of fat cells, which the body then eliminates naturally. Results develop gradually over the following weeks, and for an optimal effect a series of treatments is usually needed, depending on the amount of fatty tissue and the desired result. Injection lipolysis is not a weight-loss method, but a way to precisely shape the contours of the face and body in people with localised fat deposits.
After the treatment
After the treatment, transient swelling, redness, tenderness and a feeling of tightness or tingling in the treated area are expected, especially after treating the under-chin area. These reactions are a normal part of the fat-cell breakdown process and usually subside within a few days, though in some patients swelling can last longer. For the first 24 to 48 hours we recommend avoiding intense physical activity, sauna, hot baths, swimming pools and alcohol. For several days after the treatment it is advisable to avoid direct sun exposure and solariums, as well as massage of the treated area, unless your doctor advises otherwise. Good hydration and following the after-care recommendations support optimal recovery and the best aesthetic result.
